the Grinch in Sydney
There's nothing that so special happening on Sunday for me. Just ordinary Sunday where I go to church, do hospitality, clean all the mess up, arrange the sandwiches, sing.. sing... and.. clean up the mess again..
And as usual my ritual Sunday after church is hanging out in coles a.k.a groceries shopping for the week..
Oh my..
How many rituals do I have during the week?
Oh well.. besides going to work, do my website project, eating and sleeping (and blogging of cos).. uhmmm.. nothing much actually..
Sometimes I do hang out with friends for coffee, too... Or shopping.. catching up.. etc..
Then it comes to Saturday.. my ritual Saturday would be laundry, cleaning and wash my car; mini.
A ha!! got it! So.. how many rituals do I have again??
I can only count two rituals; that can be highlighted to be the most intoxicating activity of the week: that is hanging out in coles, and washing mini.
Mini having this problem in her head, and disorderity abt germs and cleanness.
She has warned all my friends not to touch her window. Nobody allowed to eat or bring food, nobody allowed to make any kinda smell inside (including the fragrance's smell, so please don't spray any fragrance before going into mini ;p ).
She even only do take away food once in a year.. dont wanna leave all the food's odor .. She's a bit delirious sometimes ... wekkk.. ;p
So mini gets washed out and showered every Saturday and will be shining for the rest of the week (unless someone touches the window).
So is there anyone in the world who dares to touch her window?
After all those warnings, black and white paper regulation: do and don'ts going into mini..?
Yep. Only one person who dares touch her window.
This is the story:
On one fine sunny Sunday afternoon after church; I drive towards Broadway shopping center. As usual I pass the intersection/traffic lights Abercrombie st and George st. (Dunno why I always take this way.. why can't I be creative to take other alternative way besides this intersection??).
There's this "window cleaner" guy hang out on that intersection of Abercrombie st and George st. He carries the wiper (or whatever you call it) and a bottle of soap-ie water. He will just spray or splash that soapie water on the window and starts wiping it.
Argghh... I hate it. Its not that I hate the guy, but I hate to speak in loud english and say NO!
I dont think he understands english though, no matter how loud I speak and tell him not to clean and touch the window, he never listen to me anyways, he never waited for my reaction either.. he will straight away splash the soapie water and do the "cleaning".
And of cos, he breaks the regulation number 1: HE TOUCHES THE WINDOW... a ha!
I dont mind about giving money to him.. its not about the money...
It's about the window!
But I remember that I've just served people this morning at church with full of smile and passion. I even clean all the mess in green room with no complain whatsoever...
Then here comes (I call him the Grinch, cos he looks like it) the Grinch; wiping and touch mini's window every Sunday, all I wanna do is just scream out loud next to his ear til he gets headache (what kinda torture is that???).
Then where all the joy of serving people, the passion... and the love gone?
UHmm... good question.
So the week after that, I decided to clean up my attitude. Still, I pray and hoping the lights not turning into red.
Ouch!!
I think God listens to my prayer. The lights turns to red!
I stop in red lights..
And there the Grinch comes!! Approaching my car.. O ow...
(As usual and always), he sprays the soapie water (onto the big glass screen).. and starts wiping....I just watch him from inside with tears.. huaaa... :**(
What should I do? .... It's a choice.
I grab my wallet and take out some coins.
I open the window, smile at him, say ... "Thank you, God bless you."
He looks surprised and say.... "Thank you, I wish all the people that I meet will say the same thing as you just did.. God bless you too, and .. oh... you have a nice car by the way..."
uhmmm... Dunno.. it makes me smile too in a way...
Rather than making me headache and fussy about window, I'd rather keep my passion and love and smile to all people... even if he looks like the Grinch to me..
(I still do pray and hoping I wont get red lights when I pass that intersection by the way...)
